You took the first step. You scheduled your Discover Zoom. Here are answers to common questions:

There is no cost or obligation to proceed. However, you will understand and appreciate the CURE Plan approach and benefits compared to standard care.
We address common general questions regarding the CURE Plan process:

HOW LONG IS A DISCOVER ZOOM?
A Discover Zoom is scheduled for 30 minutes. Use this linkto enter the Zoom waiting room. If time allows and you want to proceed, we may begin a consultation process or schedule another appointment. Medical consultations are submitted to your insurance unless you prefer otherwise. Check with your plan to clarify whether Craig Backs MD 2131 W. PREPARE FOR YOUR ZOOM
Use your computer or a tablet if possible due to the visual detail shared on screen.

Unmute your microphone and start your video. Dr. Backs will admit you from the “waiting room.” If you have never used Zoom, this tutorial will enable a better experience.
During the meeting, you may be asked to share your screen to help you register, connect or navigate on CureCoach.App. Click here to learn more about screen sharing.
Arrange your environment as you would a professional in-office visit. Pick a private quiet space with no interruptions. Spouses/partners/surrogates are welcome at your discretion. You may not be aware of background noise but the microphone transmits clinking dishes, pets, playing children, and other distractions inaudible to you. Outdoor locations with associated wind or other noise, driving, or being otherwise preoccupied are not appropriate. If the internet connection is not reliable, we may need to reschedule for a better connection.
Have your medication list and supplement bottles handy (including OTC medications). Be prepared to provide blood pressure readings from other encounters or home readings, as well as height and recent weight measurements.
Have your insurance card handy. Check with your plan to determine if Craig Backs MD 2131 W. White Oaks Dr. Springfield IL 62704 is in network for your plan. Standard Medicare covers services, but Medicare Advantage and other PPO plans may not include us in their network. If your plan is an HMO or ACA Community plan, I will be out of network.
Please listen, take notes, write down questions (in the chat if you know how) and limit interruptions. Talking over the other person is a special problem with Zoom’s slight delay. Let the other person finish, pause, then talk. There will be plenty of time for questions. Generally the common questions will be covered by Dr. Backs proactively during the call. This is not his first such encounter.
Time management is important. We can cover everything with plenty of time for questions. Detailed medical history can be provided using our portal CureCoach.App. Please try it. We think you will like it based on patient feedback.
Complete registration and as many of the questions on CureCoach.App as you can. The more information you provide, the better and more efficiently we can serve you. Your private health information is secured byCureCoach.App more safely than email, text or even voice communication. We designed CureCoach.App for easy use to limit confusion and barriers to timely and accurate communication. If you prefer and accept the security/privacy risk, upon emailed request I will email documents in lieu of CureCoach.app, though documents will be archived in a record you can use when you wish.
BEGIN YOUR ZOOM ENCOUNTER
Tap the button below to enter the virtual patient waiting room via Zoom. Dr. Backs will begin the call at the time of your appointment. Be sure to access the call on a device with audio (headphones or earbuds are helpful) and video capabilities, preferably on a computer. Have your phone handy in case your connection is interrupted. Join from browser is usually an option, but you may need to download the Zoom app on your internet-connected device prior to your call.
If you do not enter the waiting room by 5 minutes after your scheduled appointment time, you will first receive a text and then a call from 217-290-0230 at the mobile phone number you provided to remind or assist you. If you do not answer or appear by 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time, you will be considered a no show and rescheduled.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ZOOM CONNECTION IS INTERRUPTED?
Dr. Backs will call you at the number you provided during the scheduling process. Be sure to have your phone handy in the case of interruptions. In most case, interruptions are restored within seconds or minutes. You can call 217-290-0230 to have at least an audio connection.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY CALL?
If you proceed with your CURE Plan, you will be scheduled for lab testing and a review Huddle either in person or Zoom. If your visit is scheduled virtually, please review the telehealth guidelines to prepare. Insurance and Medicare generally cover labs and consultation/coaching. We offer an affordable cash pay option for those lacking insurance coverage or preferring to avoid the hassle. There are advantages to cash payment, especially for the initial assessment to organize a complete picture efficiently without third party interference.
Register as a New Member on CureCoach.App . This will gather your history, provide access to reports and secure text communication for your CURE Plan.
If you’re not able to use the secure and private CureCoach.App, Dr. Backs will email or text information. They are less secure. You accept responsibility for the privacy and security of your private health information in return for this preference. The CureCenter will not be responsible for privacy breaches when we can’t use the CureCoach platform based on your limits. We do not “snail mail” reports. If you are seen in person, documents can be printed upon request. All patients have digital access to documents.
